OBJECTIVES
Period poverty is the economic struggle many low-income women and girls face in affording menstrual products. This financial burden leads to missed school days and important activities. A girl missing four days of school every four weeks due to her period can result in a 10 to 20 percent absence. As a consequence, they fall behind in life, impacting their future aspirations and perpetuating the stigma surrounding menstruation and gender equality.
Our purpose is to ensure affordable and accessible menstrual hygiene products in schools and communities. Young Wombs support initiatives that empower women and girls economically, as financial constraints often contribute to period poverty. This could involve vocational training, entrepreneurship programs, and income-generating activities.
We strive to create a secure and nurturing space for teenage mothers, empowering them for sustainable development
